What's On Your Wish List?

It happens every year about this time.  The grandparents start asking for my children's holiday wish lists.  And we're not just talking a general wish list of ideas.  No, they need specifics.  If it's clothing, they need sizes.  Toys?  They need brand names and a list of retailers.  I do my best to oblige, creating detailed lists for each child and delivering them to the grandparents by Thanksgiving Day.  Is it a chore?  I suppose, but the rewards always outweigh the efforts.  My kids are delighted come Christmas to receive gifts they actually want and the grandparents are happy to be the ones putting smiles on their little faces.

Women Business Owners on the Rise!

The Center for Women's Business Research recently released a study with some interesting figures:

The report, which was released last month, estimated that eight million businesses — or 28 percent of all businesses — were owned by women, and that those businesses created or maintained 16 percent of all jobs in a range of industries like business services, personal services, retail, health care, communications and real estate.
