Reputation Management: What are they saying about you online?

Earlier this week we talked about building your online brand.  As we noted in our post, building a brand is a process and won't happen overnight.  But as you work consistently on building, it's important to also monitor and manage how others are responding to your efforts.

We're talking about Reputation Management and it is essential to anyone seeking to have an online presence.  Your online reputation will be determined not only by your actions and marketing efforts, but by how others perceive you both online and off.

Rep-management

We're seeing more and more user-generated review sites popping up these days.  We're also seeing a trend in Internet users turning to these sites for recommendations.  Even Google has reacted to this customer-driven need by placing reviews front and center in their local search features.

Any company looking to build a brand with a solid foundation and good reputation needs to be aware of what others are saying about them.  Are there reviews about you out there?  Are they positive or negative?  Or if there is no sign of your company online other than the confines of your own website, how can you get people talking?

There are a plethora of methods to managing brands online but the bottom line is it needs to be done!  Don't let negative reviews go unnoticed by your company and miss out on the chance to address them.  And don't miss out on the amazing brand power that positive reviews and commentary can bring.

It's your rep on the line, so keep your eyes and ears ready to make it shine!
